Hi Ladies,
I just need to clarify two things so that we are all on the same page. I don't think we have been communicating extremely well, so this should make things easier.
- Our age group focusing on the second grade. Second grade is the only grade that focuses on community and local history as far as GLCE's are concerned. I know that Courtney had mentioned fourth grade, but unless you can find some that I did not, the fourth grade GLCE's don't cover what we need to cover.
-I don't check the blog everyday, but at least every other day. I think we all need to commit to at least that, because last week was a little crazy waiting until the night of.
If there is anything else you feel is important to clarify, please comment!
I put fourth in the pen pals because I think they will get better information from older students. We can change it to second grade if you would like. In my lesson plan, I used citizen involvement for my lesson plan for fourth grade and got full points so I think there are various ways to tie it in to multiple grade levels but second will work! Lets do a final edit on the Pen Pals and all agree and start the map tomorrow morning and call it a week.
ReplyDeleteI agree, using older students will give them better information. And I think we are done with the Google Doc so go ahead and move on to making the map. I tried to get a hold of Megan on Facebook yesterday morning, but I haven't heard anything. She hasn't contributed to the document yet.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any ideas for the map? We could directions/route for a parade and have markers at important places in San Francisco. Or we could go from a house to the school/library and point out important/historical places. Just two ideas.
I like markers at important places in San Francisco I will start it now.
ReplyDeleteGo ahead and post the URL of our Pen Pals if you would like, I am currently working on the map and will invite you asap.
ReplyDeleteI will work on editing the map! I really like the idea of the important places with in san francisco as well!!
